Unnamed emotion clogging her chest
Making her palms slick with sweat
Made her want to run for the hills.
Stories needed to be told,
Freedom and life they needed
Attempts at crossing the danger
Like the plague, risky and scary, it was.
Stressful encounters and harrowing experiences
Had never let her stop before.
She had promised to make time,
Promised to make the trip
She would pave the route for them
And nothing would stand in her way.
