Magic of time

A Poem about Time

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock
Without a stop or even a pause
The never ending sound of the clock
That was how it always was.

Time doesn’t wait for me
It doesn’t wait for you.
Is that how it should be?
I wish I could save a few.

A few moments to spare
I yearn for some more time
A lot of things to take care
Yet, I do nothing worth a dime.

A second here and a second there
Can I hide it in a little jar?
Saving a few, I swear
would be anything but bizarre.

The second hand moving fast
Following it the minute hand ran
Look at the spell it cast
I have no control, the race began.

The hour hand not far behind
Knowing that it can’t be stopped
Yet, I hoped to catch up, I really tried
Down like a stone, my efforts dropped.

As each second slipped away
My efforts to save them gone astray
Hours turned to another day
I can’t believe all the time that got away.

One thought struck my mind
Time stopped for no one
Doesn’t matter if I whined
There were no guarantees, absolutely none.

I don’t have to out run it
Like I had once believed
All I had to do was accept, not quit
The magic that time weaved.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock
I don’t need it to wait for me
The never ending sound of the clock
Can’t scare me and make me flee!
