One day, I met someone
He made me laugh
He was by my side
and stayed back, he did
when others did not.
Without words, he knew
Without gestures, he understood
Without asking, he got
Without thinking, he shared.
He knew me better,
Better than I know myself.
I found a friend in him
The very best I have seen.
Right or not, it’ll never matter
I’ll always have his back.
There have been times
When we fought and argued,
Stayed silent and then made up
What is worth everything
is the happiness we share.
With my fingers crossed I wish
For him to remain
My friend of life
Until the end of time.
